Sloane Helicopters Ltd Signs A Contract For
Thirteen AgustaWestland Helicopters
AgustaWestland is pleased to announce that Sloane Helicopters Ltd, within the framework of the multi-year contract and distribution agreement signed in February 2006 for the acquisition of a minimum of 44 helicopters, has firmed up orders for the acquisition of 13 helicopters to be delivered through to the end of 2010. This latest order is additional to the 10 helicopters already ordered by Sloane Helicopters Ltd last year.
Sloane Helicopters Ltd has been supporting AgustaWestland's UK and Ireland sales since 1996. During these eleven years Sloane has sold more than 40 AgustaWestland helicopters in the UK and Ireland. Sloane also acts as a Service Centre, maintenance facility and Type Rating Transition centre for AgustaWestland helicopters in the UK. This distribution agreement, whose overall market value is approximately €200 million, further strengthens AgustaWestland's position in the UK and Irish civil helicopter market.
The distribution agreement allows Sloane to market and sell the entire AgustaWestland civil product line in the UK and Ireland for a wide range of applications including corporate transport, law enforcement and air ambulance operations. AgustaWestland's share of the UK light-twin VIP/Corporate market is already more than 70% with over 50 A109 and Grand helicopters in service.
