navAero Welcomes Croatia Airlines to Tablet EFB System Family

navAero announced a contract signing with Croatia Airlines for the deployment of the navAero Tablet EFB system for the airline's A319/320 and Q400 fleets.

Dual networked installations of the navAero Tablet EFB system will be installed with provisioning that features a fully adjustable mount for the customer selected Samsung ATIV tablet device and connectivity to aircraft power for device charging that will allow Croatia Airlines to achieve their initial program goal of flying paperless in early 2014. Wiring provisions for both fleets will also be included in the system installation so to allow for the future addition of the navAero Universal Aircraft Interface Device (UAID) to the EFB system architecture for providing ARINC data connectivity to the tablet devices. Data connectivity integration will take place in Phase 2 of Croatia Airline's EFB program. navAero will also provide complete rapid decompression and EMI testing for the Samsung ATIV tablet.

The navAero Tablet EFB System consists of a modular, proprietary designed "Smart" Mount tablet holder that securely contains that tablet device and meets all appropriate DO-160 requirements. The holder is integrally equipped with the navAero Power/Data Interface (PDi) module that converts 28VDC aircraft power to that which is appropriate for charging the tablet device. The PDi module also feeds aircraft data (ARINC 429, 717, Discretes) when the system architecture includes the navAero Universal Aircraft Interface Device (UAID).The UAID also provides built-in capabilities for QAR functionality.

Deployments on both Croatia Airlines fleets will begin in early 2014 with installation kits for the Airbus 320 family Bombardier Q400 available at that time.
