Rockwell Collins launches FMC-4000 mission computer series

At the ILA Berlin Air Show, Rockwell Collins launched its FMC-4000 series of flight and mission computers offering advanced capabilities with unprecedented levels of performance and flexibility across a large variety of platforms. As part of the launch, Rockwell Collins announced that Airbus Helicopters recently selected the FMC-4212 mission computer.

"Our FMC-4000 flight and mission computer seamlessly connects systems and applications on board, allowing pilots to control overall aircraft functionality," said Claude Alber, vice president and managing director, Europe, Middle East and Africa, for Rockwell Collins. "The high performance, open architecture approach and scalability of the FMC-4000 enable manufacturers to easily equip their aircraft with different packaging options while complying with many interface requirements."

The FMC-4000 series is available for fighter, trainer, tanker, transport, rotary wing and unmanned aerial systems aircraft. The FMC-4000 series uses the latest multicore processor and hardware, along with accelerated video and signal processing and compression functions, that are suitable for dual use applications. These comply with both commercial and military environmental requirements.

In addition, the FMC-4000 series features unmatched flexibility and scalability across various platforms, delivering high performance functionality, reliability and efficiency while decreasing size, weight, power consumption and cost at the same time.
