Asiana Airlines signs on to UTC Aerospace Systems C.A.R.E. program

UTC Aerospace Systems has signed a 10-year Comprehensive Accessory Repair and Exchange (C.A.R.E.) program agreement to support evacuation systems on Asiana Airlines' new fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft. UTC Aerospace Systems is a unit of United Technologies Corp.

As part of the C.A.R.E. program, UTC Aerospace Systems will provide evacuation slide asset management and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) support services for multiple evacuation system components on Asiana's six A380 aircraft.

"UTC Aerospace Systems has established a strong, collaborative relationship with Asiana Airlines, and we are pleased to build upon it through support of its new A380 fleet," said Brian Costa, vice president of Customer Service for UTC Aerospace Systems' Aircraft Systems segment. "We are committed to providing tailored solutions that best meet our customers' specific needs, and with the C.A.R.E. program, Asiana will benefit from repair and inventory services that are supported by a world-class OEM supplier."

UTC Aerospace Systems also currently provides repair services for air management systems and electric power on Asiana's Airbus and Boeing aircraft, engine accessories for the airline's PW4000 engines and the landing gear on its B777, B747 and B767 aircraft.

Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, Asiana Airlines operates 14 domestic and 90 international passenger routes, and 27 cargo routes throughout Asia, Europe, North America and Oceania. The global airline maintains a fleet of more than 80 aircraft.
