J&S Franklin DEFENCELL MAC Flood Barrier passes ERDC testing with flying colours
The new J&S Franklin DEFENCELL MAC FE (Flood and Emergency) Gabion Barrier System has completed successful testing.
The tests carried out by the US Army Corps of Engineers, Engineer Research and Development Centre (ERDC) in Vicksburg, USA produced excellent results, including the "fastest construction times" and "lowest seepage figures" of any product in its class.
DEFENCELL MAC FE is the new range of modular protective welded mesh metal gabions, lined with geotextile and supplied two heights, three and four feet. Filled with locally available materials such as earth or sand as an easily to install flood protection barrier, they are ten times faster to fill than sandbags, are easily removed and can be reused.
This is the second DefenCell product to be tested at ERDC and the MAC FE joins the lightweight DC2 Barrier in the list of approved flood protection products.
DEFENCELL MAC FE gabions are supplied pre-assembled and folded for shipping and are easy to deploy by pulling open, positioning and filling.
