MDHI receives contract to arm 17 MD 503Fs for Afghan Air Force
MD Helicopters was recently awarded two contracts from the U.S. Department of the Army Non-Standard Rotary Wing Aviation Program Office. The first of these, dated 19 September 2014, was an Option Award to a 2011 contract for the manufacture and delivery of 12 MD 530F helicopters to the Afghan Air Force (AAF). The second, awarded 1 October 2014, was for MDHI to procure, install, integrate and test a basic Mission Equipment Package (MEP) weapons system onto the full AAF fleet of 17 MD 530Fs.
