GKN Aerospace promotes engine and transparencies services at MRO Americas, 2015
GKN Aerospace transparencies and aero-engine services will form the centre of the company's display at MRO Americas, 14-16 April, 2015, booth 2019.
Transparency repair and replacement
GKN Aerospace is a major first-tier supplier of both original-equipment and aftermarket aircraft canopies, cockpit windows, windshields, passenger cabin windows and wingtip lenses. The company provides a comprehensive AOG transparencies replacement service and offers an extensive FAA 145 transparencies repair station which includes window framing and overhaul operations. Fan blade repair
GKN Aerospace holds a wide range of approvals for repair of engine fan blades, fan disks and fan cases. This capability will be a central feature of the display at MRO Americas. The company supports over 180 airlines and jet engine overhaul shops internationally and has recently added repair 16 to CFM56-7 blades, typically used on Boeing B737-600/700/800/900/-900ER aircraft, to its list of services. This complex repair restores the chord of the fan blade and virtually eliminates chord wear as a cause of fan blade replacement.
